Images from a day spent wandering around Songdo International Business District outside of Seoul, South Korea, during Chuseok 2018.
Built to capacitate the living, work and amenity needs of 400,000 human beings, Songdo lies largely empty to this day, housing roughly an eighth of its expected residents. On an afternoon in late September, I took the strange journey from Seoul to explore its lifeless streets.
I remember the breeze from the sea that told me autumn had begun, that finicky indecisiveness between warmth and frigidity in the air that told me life's circular nature had coalesced once again in its endless march around the sun.
